  • #2 - Waiting/Hangout Room

    #2 - Waiting/Hangout Room

    Need a place to cool off or warm up? In this room our Volunteers will wait on their neighbor to mentor, coach, or teach them. The room have a sitting area, a futon, a hospitality area with hot and cold beverages (depending on the season) and a TV. This is also where our neighbors without shelters may come nap while they wait ride to a near by shelter in Decatur, Huntsville, or Birmingham. Your generosity in our Waiting/Hangout Room will allow our neighbors/volunteers to feel right at home.

    #4 - Resource Room

    It takes a lot of marketing materials, office supplies, and paper…lots of paper to mentor, teach, advocate, and story tell to the community. This room will allow us to do more printing in-house and cut down cost in the long run. Partner with us financial to make this room a reality.

    Hallways can be dark and dingy or full of life. We want our hallways to encourage people to go further with us, to dream, to explore, to be willing to be challenged. Your investment in these hallways can make that a reality.

    A Coordinator of a program such as Wise Up needs a quiet space to work on curriculum, building relationships with school personnel and volunteer facilitators, and monitor her High School intern. Your financial donation makes financial literacy accessible for high school students across our Cullman Area.

    Everyone needs a quiet space to learn to read. This meeting room/library will provide much needed resources to youth and adults across our community. Your willingness to investing in this space supports children and adults reading, writing and arithmetic.


  • #18 - The Gathering Place

    #18 - The Gathering Place

    We are all about community at The Link and there is no better way to enjoy our neighbors then around food! The Gathering Place will be a multi-use facility where Pure Joy Makers will be trained in candy-making, community organizations can host nutritional cooking classes, and our neighbors will fellowship with one another during regular self-lead and organized community meals. Oh…and you’ll also see a few kids floating around as we expand into afterschool programs and summer camps. Your investment in this area gives some much needed code-updates but more importantly allows us to model that the essence of neighboring is all about.

    #23 - The Learning Center

    Children learn in all different ways and sometimes don’t have an equal opportunity to get off to a great start or struggle with academic concepts. Either way our Learning Center will create opportunities for tutoring and mentoring children one-on-one and in groups. Give a child a chance of a lifetime by financial investing in this room.

    #24 - Outside Play Area

    What kid doesn’t love to have some play time? We’ll need to work that into our AfterSchool and Summer Programs, but with no playground in site…it makes for little opportunity for our kids to get out and enjoy the sunshine. This area also needs some landscaping upgrades and some gutters added to the front of the Welcoming Place. Your financial donation can help beautify our space and make play part of this community’s neighborhood.

    #27 - Fitness Center

    Cullman, AL is ranked in the top 5 in Alabama for obesity. The majority of those individuals fall below the poverty line. With no affordable fitness center in Cullman, our new Fitness Center will give our low-income neighbors a very affordable $30/yr membership that they can pay for, earn credits towards, or volunteer hours to use. Your financial donation could literally save someone’s life from diabetes, high-blood pressure, high cholesterol, depression, cancer, and more.


  • #32 - Jobs Bus Office

    #32 - Jobs Bus Office

    Someday the jobs Bus will launch and when it does, look out Cullman because it will not only become one bus, but we know we’ll need more. With it will come a logistical team of bus drivers that ensure our neighbors are where they need to be to fill out applications, go on job interviews, and get to work. Financial contributions to this room take us one step closer to over-coming yet another barrier to employment.
